• In India: Serving India’s
low caste children

The Samsi School in West Bengal serves some of the poorest communities in India including the Harijans, the country’s lowest caste. While the Indian government is constitutionally required to help Harijan children, once they become Christians the help is withheld.

Children in the program receive tuition, uniforms, books, supplies and special help for their families. The program is staffed with Christian teachers who work with our local partner.

• In India: Education for
the “Untouchables”

For centuries, the Dalits (or “Untouchables”) have suffered extreme poverty, social persecution and discrimination under the now illegal, yet still prominent, Hindu caste system. The Bible Faith Mission, run by Dalits for Dalits, works to help very poor children who cannot afford to attend school.

• In India: Caring for
orphans in North Bengal

In the northern region of West Bengal, our partner serves families and children at the Sishu Ashram—a residential children's home. Many of the children are orphans or come from homes that are too poor to provide the care they need.

Each child at Sishu Ashram receives shelter, food, education, spiritual guidance and the love of caring Christian adults.

the poor of West Bengal

JKPS is a well-regarded evangelism and church planting ministry based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Workers minister to the poor, plant churches, provide literacy and Bible teaching to children and train leaders to reach people groups across West Bengal.

JKPS has a special concern to bring opportunity for education to places where children have no access to formal schooling.
