• In Bolivia: Empowering women
through literacy

Quechua women in Bolivian rarely know how to read or write. The limited opportunities that exist routinely go to men. The Quechua Literacy Program sends Christian teachers to remote mountain villages. They hold literacy classes that include women and organize community development efforts such as vegetable gardens. The literacy program also serves as a Christian outreach in the villages.
