Where We Work:
Latin America

Whether speaking Spanish, Portuguese or Quechua our local partners work in a context of poverty. As these believers share the hope of the gospel, they find many opportunities to show the love of Christ. They demonstrate their faith in practical and meaningful ways such as caring for children, treating painful teeth and teaching adults to read.

• Bolivia: A gift of literacy, a gift of faith

• Cuba: A church that keeps on growing

The Cuban church has experienced rapid growth over the past decades. In a land where many families struggle with poverty and other challenges, the church has produced a rich harvest of active cell groups.

• Guatemala: Quality education
for urban poor

Guatemala's crowded school system serves only half of the country’s school-aged children. The majority of those left out are Spanish and Indian children. The Latin American Evangelical Institute has responded to make it possible for these children to receive a quality education.

• Peru: Sharing Christ
with remote Quechua tribes

Two hundred kilometres from Lima and 14,000 feet up the Andes mountains in central Peru, live more than 100,000 mostly unreached highland Quechua people. Most are illiterate and cling to life at a subsistence level. Few Spanish-speaking Peruvian churches possess a vision or the means for reaching this large group of unevangelized people.

• Peru: Bringing light to
the hidden Amazonian tribes

The tribal people of the Amazon Basin have been exploited by the majority population for hundreds of years. Others have had no contact with the outside world. The Holistic Tribal Mission of Peru — Peru’s first missionary-sending agency led by Amazon Indians — is serving the spiritual and physical needs of endangered Amazon tribes.
