In October, 2005, an earthquake rocked Pakistan and caused massive devastation in Kashmir. Many poor mountaintop communities were virtually flattened, leaving villagers to brave the sub-zero temperatures without shelter, and in some cases, food.
Our local partner, the Evangelical Fellowship of Pakistan (EFP), has been providing assistance to one of these isolated villages. A village too remote to receive help from the large humanitarian agencies.
Soon after the earthquake our local partner was able to gain access to the mountain and deliver food, clothing and basic medical help for village residents. Subsequent distributions included a wood cutter for rebuilding permanent homes and the provision of 300 new beds.
Donors are invited to support plans for additional help on the mountain. EFP would like to provide a water tank to supply clean drinking water and washing facilities to ensure healthy sanitation.
The ministry would also like to provide corn seed and goats to provide a sustainable source of food.
Thank you for helping our partners demonstrate the love of Jesus to this closed Muslim community in Kashmir.
